Good Friday

The “Good” in “Good Friday” derives from an earlier English form of “God”. Therefore, the day in which we remember the atoning death of our Lord (in which he bore the divine punishment for human sin in our place on the cross) is “God’s Friday”. A special service of Divine Worship will be held to remember this most solemn of occasions, in which we hold together the horror of the consequences of our sin upon he who knew no sin alongside the joyous knowledge of the fact that, on the third day, he rose again.
