JULY 2026 NEWSLETTER

This is the first newsletter since May so it will be a round-up of the last eight weeks or so.

The Floral and Art Festival in June was a great success with 1134 visitors, nine award winning artists, ten musical performances, plus multiple students and their families from Southern Cross Catholic College. All the stalls, including the new Blind Date with a Book, decoupage vases, Guess the Wine tasting and Floral Door Welcomers did well and the café did exceptionally well with the bigger menu. The whole enterprise was particularly well received with many commenting on the huge array of floral displays and installations celebrating famous impressionist artists. The festival cleared approximately $8,500. Many thanks to all within and outside our community who helped make it all happen. It was such a joy to have Bishop Sarah Plowman at both the opening night and the Patronal Sunday service.

The main event in July was the preparation and presentation of Spirited Generosity. About 30 attend the morning’s information meeting which outlined what the church community is already doing with outreach, caring for ourselves and others, talents and skills, creation care - that is our church grounds, local environments and the planet - spiritual support, sharing time and presence in the community and financial resources. New ideas and planning for the future was explored with many ideas put forward for further discussion and implementation. There was an excited feeling of new beginnings and changes, including how to implement the “wish list” items and further planning. The meeting was only an hour long and there will be another for follow up work. The morning concluded with a shared lunch of fellowship and friendship. Leaflets are on the white tables for you to peruse.

Thank you to the gardeners who have spread the mulch around the grounds and continue to mow grass, clip hedges and prune trees. Your efforts are always sincerely appreciated.

The August calendar is available and full of many extra days of services which you may wish to attend throughout the weeks. Also check out the spruce new web site for Bramble Bay Parish and click on Events and other information to keep you up to date. Also Fr. Ted’s sermons can be found on You Tube.

Anglicare is now providing a weekly cleaner and cleaning products for all the toilets. Thank you to all those who have shared this task over the last months.

On a very personal note, a huge thank you from Liz Peters for all for your prayers, care, comforting words and cards on the sudden passing of Grant on June 7. His death was not dementia related. The family followed all his wishes, hence no formal funeral.

Keep warm and safe with the chill of winter still pervading. Hot soup and cosy up with a good book.
