29 May 2022: The Ascension of Our Lord

God has raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named.
— Ephesians 1:20-21

Collect: Eternal God, by raising Jesus from the dead you proclaimed his victory, and by his ascension, you declared him Lord of all: lift up our hearts to heaven, where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever..  Amen.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.  Amen
