25 December 2022: The Celebration of The Birth of Our Lord: Christmas Day

A virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel: God with us.

— Matthew 1:23

COLLECT: Let us pray in the peace of this Christmas celebration that our joy in the birth of Christ will last forever.

A moment of silence.

Eternal God, who made this most holy day to shine with the brightness of your one true light: bring us, who have   known the revelation of that true light on earth, to see the radiance of your heavenly glory, through Jesus   Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with   you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

 All:  Amen.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.  Amen

On this holy day, heaven is come down to earth, and earth is raised to  heaven.  Keep in safety all those who have gone through death in the hope of heaven.
