22 January 2023: Epiphany III

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness among the people.

— Matthew 4:23

COLLECT: Loving God, the light of the minds that know you, the life of the souls that love you, and the strength of the hearts that   serve you: help us so to know you that we may truly love   you, and so to love you that we may faithfully serve you, whose service is perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ our   Lord.  Amen.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.  Amen

Archbishop Justin Welby: Archbishop of Canterbury
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell: Archbishop of York.
