03 April 2022: Lent V (Fifth Sunday in Lent)

Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.

— Psalm 126:6

Collect: Christ, whose feet were caressed with perfume and a woman’s hair, you humbly took a basin and a towel and washed the feet of your friends: wash us also in your tenderness, that, embracing your service freely, we may accept no other bondage in your name.  Amen.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.  Amen

Archbishop Justin Welby: Archbishop of Canterbury
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell: Archbishop of York.
