Collect of the week

God our Father,

whose will it is to bring all things to order

and unity in our Lord Jesus Christ:

may all the peoples of the world,

now divided and torn apart by sin,

be brought together under his sovereign rule of love;

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mission and Outreach

Woody Point Special School has been discerned as a focus for our new season of mission and outreach. The yellow lid bins at the back of the church are waiting for your extra groceries to donate to their pantry. Meals which are labelled with date and ingredients, packaged and frozen can be put in the church freezer for collection. For more information, contact Elizabeth on 0404 080 861, or Leisa.

BCA Boxes are due: please leave them on the back table, or hand to Elizabeth.

Spirited Generosity is an ongoing initiative in our parish. Please check the back table for information on our next steps. If anything has been raised in your spirit as a result, please continue the conversation with fellow parishioners, parish councillors, wardens, and Fr Ted.

We ask of your goodness, Lord, to comfort and sustain all who in this transitory life are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity, and especially Shirley and Alan Kimber, Rosina, Ann, Barbara, Ian, Chris, Jeff Byrne, Karne, Greg, Aaron, Joanne, Grace and Faith, Fr David, Nina, Sophie, Lesley, Helena, Claire, Wayne, Janice, Carol, Shakiraia, Kristy, Martina, John, Fran, Lois, and Beryl Old. Please contact Fr Ted to be on this list.

We also give thanks for those whose year’s mind occurs at this time, and among them Jean Peacock and Len Symons. Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.

Bible Study

We have almost finished our study through the first book of Samuel, about Saul, first king of Israel, his successor David, and their titanic struggle for the throne.

The next study will be a topical study, looking at what various parts of the Bible have to say about Heaven. How familiar are you with the lives of Saul and David? How much do you know about what the Bible says about heaven? Perhaps Bible Study is for you.

Christmas Market Stall

The annual Bunnings Christmas Market Stall is on again this year, Thursday 3 December 5:30-7:30pm. Do consider what homemade fares and craft you might contribute to help this important moment in the life of your parish.

2027 Calendar and Lectionary Orders

Orders are now being taken for 2027 Anglican Church calendars. Each month showcases an Anglican church from somewhere in Australia with a beautiful photo.

Orders are also being taken for Lectionaries for next year. Have you planned your Bible reading for next year? Why not read along with the Church? The Lectionary contains all the information you need to read the whole Bible cover-to-cover every three years in a structured manner and is used by Anglican, Roman Catholic, and several other denominations. Our Anglican version is chock full of helpful information, including readings for Morning and Evening Prayer, Holy Communion, and special Feasts and Festivals, and all the important dates, like Christmas, Easter, and Quinquagesima.

We intend on placing a bulk order before the end of the year. If you would like to order yours along with us, please see one of the Wardens or Fr Ted – there is an order sheet in the church.

Love Never Leaves Us:

An All Saints' and All Souls' Prayer

Loving Heavenly Father,

Today we remember those who have gone before us. The saints whose faith has inspired generations, and the special people whose love has shaped our own lives.

Lord, we know that love does not disappear when someone dies. It lives on in the memories we treasure, the lessons we carry, the kindness we share and the little things that remind us of someone we miss.

There are days when we smile at a memory, and others when our hearts ache for just one more conversation, one more hug or one more moment together. And that is because we have loved.

Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of those who have walked beside us, encouraged us, guided us and helped us become who we are today.

For those whose earthly journeys have ended, we entrust them to your eternal love and care.

For those who are grieving, bring comfort.

For those who feel lonely, bring your presence.

And for those who carry a quiet sadness that others may not see, bring your gentle peace.

Remind us that through Jesus Christ, death is not the end of our story, but the beginning of life everlasting in your presence. Help us to honour those we remember by living with love, kindness and faith, sharing with others the goodness they once shared with us.

Lord, we may no longer hold their hands, but we will always hold their love in our hearts.

Until the day we meet again, keep us faithful in hope, thankful for the past and trusting in your promise of eternal life.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Beyond The Pew

Faith. Life. Questions. Conversation.

Beyond The Pew is the beginning of a new parish ministry seeking your prayers and engagement. Beyond the Pew is a relaxed space for conversation about faith and life. Each gathering begins with one question. There are no prepared answers and no pressure to speak — just an opportunity to listen, share, pray and discover something from one another.

You may like to try this out with your church friends. Just ask the question, and see where the conversation goes!

Last week’s question:  Please wait, God is working. Why is it difficult to trust God’s timing?

This week’s question: Think of someone who made your life better. Who do you wish to influence in a similar way?
